On 6th February 2010, MPP@SRCUTP was invited to a dinner with Md. Juniwati Rahmat Hussin, the Vice President, Education Division, PETRONAS together with the ISC UTP.Both MPP@SRCUTP and ISC UTP which
representing the students of UTP had a chance to have a close session with Mdm. Juniwati.
Pn. Juniwati had shared her experiences from her study life until her current position, from the leaders’ point of view. “To be a leader is not easy. In some level, you need to take a decision which will not satisfy everyone, but you need to do so for the betterment of the whole”, Pn Juniwati says, in which, she is also one of the think-tankers for the development of several petrochemical plants in Malaysia.
Mr. Muhammad Haniff, president of MPP@SRCUTP in his speech expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the engagement session. “We are really glad for this grand invitation and we hope that we can cooperate in order to improve the performance of UTP from various perspectives”.
The most memorable take away given by Mdm. Juniwati to the UTP students is about lessons of a pencil. “There are values that can be taken as a leader, from a pencil. A pencil can’t write by itself. It needs to be guided by somebody. Same goes to us, we need to be led and inspired. A pencil needs to be sharpened from time to time as to ensure optimum efficiency. As human, we have to polish our skills and keep improving. We will feel pain in our way to improve just like the sharpening process causes pain to the pencil. A pencil has an eraser at the top end. We have chances in life. We can erase mistakes and correct them. The outer part of the pencil is hard while the inner part is very soft. Everything starts from the heart. The intention must be right. For the last one, pencil leaves marks. Every step taken will have its own effect. Think wisely before making decision, it may result in a positive or negative impact.
As at the end of this session, special token of appreciations were given to Pn Juniwati specially brought from various countries through ISC UTP and MPP@SRCUTP.
